Beecraigs country park reservoir – First visit

Visited Beecraigs country park and took a walk around the reservoir searching for a location for a photo. Tbh it was a wash out in the end.

Dumfries & Galloway part 2

Visited the wreck of the schooner called Monreith at Nun Mill bay. It struck a sand bar on the 12th November 1900 and we can still see the ribs of the ship today.

Visiting Carlingnose point pier, Forth estuary.

After years of looking at this pier online it was time to visit it. Was a great morning at North Queensferry.

This pier was used during the wars and is slowly dissapearing, more info can be found below.

The beaches of Berwick-upon-tweed & Bamburgh.

I have had this trip planned and in my calendar for months. Every aspect was planned ahead of time. Time of sunrise, location of the sun on the horison, where to stand on the beach, tide level, etc. Every thing was planned BUT you cvan’t plan for the weather. You get what you get.

On top of the Forth rail bridge!

Thanks to Barnado’s children charity we were able to buy tickets to go up the Forth rail bridge and see the world from 110meter up. It was a quick 30min experience but so worth it, I hope they will be doing this again.  I know there is talks about making a tourist attraction on top of the Forth rail bridge, I hope this goes ahead.

Scottish highlands day 3, Falls of Foyre

As we left the 3rd day we were already 15min down the road before we realsied we missed out n the biggest waterfall that was just minutes away form the camp site. We turned around and drove back to see Falls of Foyre, a walk down the hill to two viewing places made it all worth it.

Scottish highlands day 2, Invermoriston & Whitebridge

We left Plodda falls and drove back towards Loch Ness. We stopped at Invermoriston to visit the old bridge and see the river flowing between the bridges. Very dangerous location with moss making the rocks very slippery.

A worthy visit on any photography trip into the highlands.

Scottish highlands day 2, Plodda falls

After we left Fort Augustus we travelled to Plodda falls. A waterfall that is absoltely stunning. It has 2 tiers and a old rusty walkway lost in time. I would love to return to this location in the futre and spend more time there and this time take some filters to help with the blown out skies.

Scottish highlands day 2, Fort Augustus canal locks

On the 2nd day we visted a few sites starting off at Fort Augustus. This was my 1st visit and I will be going back to revisit this place. It has so many potentials, won’t even go into the potential of a great drone video from Loch Ness up the Locks, maybe one day if I can get there early enough that there’s no people around.
