What am I?

What am I?

I’m oval but also round. I am part of most people’s childhood memories.
Adults and children love me.
I might be yellow this time next time I might red or blue or brown or maybe even pink.
I melt in you hands on a hot summers day.
Or I could melt in your mouth if you can keep the temptation to bite me at bay.
