About PbJ:
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Grew up across the bay in a suburb of Cape Town and before moving to my ancestral town of Paarl (my South African family tree started there in 1688). Left South Africa in 2000 and moved to London ans then onto Scotland in 2004. Now living just outside Edinburgh, Scotland. I haven’t looked back since.
I got into photography by accident thanks to a remark someone I knew. He was looking through my photos on DeviantArt and said I have the eye for photography. When I went through my photos I found some that looked very good (taken with a point and shoot) and of course some that looked very poorly.
In 2011 I bought my first DSLR and ended up at the race track taking photos, this grew into a small business over the next 2 years. I’m learning and improving every time I’m at the race track but this website is not about either my old DeviantArt photos or my race track photos.
This website is all about my experience as I’m learning how to become a all round photographer. I don’t want to be known as only being able to do one thing (not that there is anything wrong with it though) but that’s not for me.

We came to visit friends and loved it so much we decided to move. This was when we had nothing to lose. Love Scotland, was the right choice I think
